Bruce Gordon was a founder of Horizon Solar, Inc., in 1980. Since that time he has installed hundreds of solar hot water, pool and photovoltaic systems throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. He is recognized as one of the most knowledgeable and experienced solar installation experts in the area. His experience makes Horizon Energy Systems the ideal company to install your solar energy system. In addition to his years as a solar contractor, Mr. Gordon has earned degrees in Business Management from San Jose State University and accounting from De Anza College. This background has enabled him to do management consulting work for many Silicon Valley firms.

HES is a family run business that cares deeply about our customers well being. Currently we specialize in residential roof and ground mounted solar energy systems. We employ hard working, well-trained installation crews of solar construction professionals who are knowledgeable about working with various roofing materials. Working with the following roof types is our specialty: steel tile, concrete, wood, composite shingle and foam. We clean up thoroughly after the job. HES office staff provides high quality customer service.
In 2003, HES started installing grid-tied PV. Bruce Gordon realized that finally Solar PV grid tied inverters were ready for prime time. At that time, Horizon Energy was in a great position to become a leader in installing residential PV systems, due to our 30 year track record of installing solar water heating and off-grid solar energy systems.
Since that time. Horizon Energy has become a SunPower, Sharp, Suntech and Stion Dealer and a Diamond Certified Contractor with an impressive track record of high quality solar installations.
Horizon's commitment to the future of solar energy goes beyond installation. In addition to their jobs, many Horizon staff are members of solar and environmental organizations, working to spread the adoption of solar energy to the public by speaking to students at schools and community colleges, reaching the community at fairs, libraries, community groups, homeowner organizations, churches, etc. Certain staff members have won awards for their activism and volunteer activities in the solar energy field. HES is one-stop shopping for PV, solar hot water and solar pool heating installation services. We are able to move existing solar pool and hot water panels to make room for solar PV modules in cases where this would provide the most benefit to our customers. We remove and reinstall solar panels for our customers when reroofing is done.
