Energy Audit and Solar Electric System Sizing
A successful solar system installation is based on a properly sized system designed to consider current and future energy needs. Using energy efficiently will reduce the size of a solar power system and save you money up front. Using a watt hour meter, we can measure the actual energy usage of appliances. You can then determine if it makes sense to replace or recycle existing appliances. As part of the new California Solar Initiative, a home energy audit is required for solar electric system rebate processing. For PG&E customers, the audit takes about 30 minutes and can be completed on-line or by calling the Smarter Energy Line at 1-800-933-9555.
PG&E customers with a working refrigerator of at least 10 cubic feet in size may qualify to have it hauled off and get paid $35 to boot, call 1-800-299-7573 to see if your qualify for this program. Other appliances may also be picked up and recycled for a $20 fee, call 1-800-741-0172 to learn more.
