Bruce Gordon, Owner
Bruce Gordon was a founder of Horizon Solar, Inc., in 1980. Since that time he has installed hundreds of solar hot water, pool and photovoltaic systems throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. He is recognized as one of the most knowledgeable and experienced solar experts in the area. His experience makes Horizon Energy Systems the ideal company to install your solar energy system.
In addition to his years as a solar contractor, Mr. Gordon has earned degrees in Business Management from San Jose State University and accounting from De Anza College. This background has enabled him to do management consulting work for many Silicon Valley firms.

Kurt is the founder and chairman of the Global Warming and Energy Committee for the Loma Prieta Chapter of the Sierra Club. Kurt led the effort to survey all permitting jurisdictions in the greater Bay Area and published a Solar Permit Fee study, resulting in the reduction or elimination of solar permit fees throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Kurt has participated on the Silicon Valley SolarTech team and has volunteered with NorCal Solar Home Tour. He lives in a solar electric home, with self-installed solar radiant heat and solar hot water systems.
Kurt Newick has a B.S. degree in Computer Science from Chico State University. He is a life long Santa Clara County resident, and an active participant in many environmental issues.

Craig volunteers his time with Grid Alternatives, a non-profit organization which advises homeowners on energy conservation and installs photovoltaic systems on residential homes in low-income neighborhoods. He is also a volunteer with NorCal Solar, the Northern California chapter of the American Solar Energy Society whose mission is public education relating to all applications of solar energy including solar electric (PV), solar thermal and even solar cooking!
Craig is also a certified Master Composter and volunteer in San Mateo County’s Master Composter Program. Since 2002 he has given his time leading composting workshops throughout San Mateo County and is a member in good standing of the prestigious Red Wriggler Club.
Craig has 10+ years experience in product marketing with several Silicon Valley companies and received a B.S. degree in computer science from the University of Pittsburgh. He lives in a sun-filled Eichler home in Foster City with his wife and two young sons.

The last 24 years Rick has been living off the grid with solar electric and solar thermal energy. He has a passion for alternative and renewable energy solutions, environmental green products and sustainable building techniques. He has experience with solar water pumping, solar powered refrigeration, solar charging systems for radios and GPS, remote solar powered telephones systems (pre cellular technology), solar hot water systems, solar cooking, solar powered pond and pool pumps filtration and heating systems, bio-gas, fuel cells, rain collections systems, composting toilets, electric vehicles, SIP construction (Structural Insulated Panels), Straw bale construction and more.

Bill Bright has recently joined the staff at Horizon Energy Systems. Bill has successfully operated his own solar company Bright Solar for 25 years in San Jose. Over these 25 years Bill 's company has designed and installed thousands of solar swimming pools, hot water and electric systems for the residential and commercial sector. We welcome Bill to Horizon Energy Systems and we fully appreciate the years of experience that he has gained in running his own company. His knowledge in design and implementation of solar will help Horizon Energy Systems as we grow and become an industry leader.

Trey Daly has a BA degree in Information and Communication Studies from California State University, Chico and is currently pursuing an A.S. degree in interior design and design certificates in CBK and CBD from Canada College. Trey is a long time resident of San Mateo county and has 14+ years of B to B experience in the hi-tech and finance. Trey's knowledge and hand's on experience in design and construction, along with his emphasis in sustainable energy will be a valuable asset.
